QUINTON JACOBS
Quinton began his dancing career in 2014 at the age of 15 when he started taking classes with Carmen Waldeck at Dance Factory Swakopmund. He moved to Cape Town in 2017 to pursue dancing as a career and started his studies at the Cape Academy of Performing Arts. After graduating with distinction in 2019 he joined Cape Town City Ballet where his professional career began.During his four years as a company member he performed multiple soloist and leading roles such as Escamillo in “Carmen”, Nutcracker Prince in “The Nutcracker”, Prince Charming in “Cinderella”, Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet where he had the privilege to dance with Principal dancers Vadim Muntagirov and Fumi Kaneko from the Royal Ballet.His career has also included more neoclassical and contemporary works from choreographers such as Kenneth Tindal, Robert North, Mthuthuzeli November and Kirsten Isenburg.Quinton is currently a dancer with a new company named “Cape Ballet Africa”. There inaugural season opens September of this year.
